DON’T WAIT ANY LONGER: Apply to the EU Settlement Scheme to stay in the UK

14 Apr 2021 | Under advice, Immigration, Latest News | Posted by | 0 Comments

Are you an EU, EEA[1] or Swiss citizen? If so, are you aware that you have until 30 June 2021 to apply for pre‑settled or settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme if you want to continue living in the UK after this date?

To be eligible to apply under the EU Settlement Scheme, you must usually need to have started living in the UK by 31 December 2020. You may be granted settled status if you have been residing here for at least five (5) continuous years.

It is worth noting that the deadlines are different in some situations, for example if:-

  • you are applying to join a close family member;
  • you are the family member of a qualifying British citizen wanting to return with them or join them in the UK after a period of residence in an EEA country (or Switzerland) in accordance with EU free movement law (known as ‘Surinder Singh’ applications);
  • you stop being exempt from immigration control.

You do not need to apply if you are an Irish citizen.

You can apply using any device, such as a laptop, Android device or iPhone. As part of your application, you need to submit proof of your identity and of your residence in the UK. You will usually need to provide your biometric information (photo and fingerprints). You can either scan and upload your supporting documents or send them by post.

The Home Office will check you have not committed serious or repeated crimes, and that you do not pose a security threat before granting the application. If necessary, we can of course advise you on the matter prior to you submitting your application.

Bradley Haynes Law is a specialist and local law firm. We offer tailored immigration services and can assist you, save you time and reduce the stress incumbent when completing this type of application without legal support.

We appreciate that time is precious; your time is precious! For the fixed price of £600 + VAT, we can prepare and submit the application on your behalf. This price is per applicant and there is no application fee (Home Office fee) to pay. Alternatively, a lower fixed price can be agreed to review your application.
