Andrew Bradley, Managing Director, explains why the firm has chosen to be part of an apprenticeship scheme:

“The traditional route into the legal profession involves study at university and postgraduate level. For some people this isn’t always a desirable or financially viable option which means that a lot of potential talent was being lost.

When we opened our doors in 2014, we quickly realised that offering apprenticeships meant that we could employ people who showed promise but weren’t always able to establish their career in the conventional way.

Since then, we are proud to employ four legal apprentices who are well on their way to achieving their Level Three Diploma in Administrating Legal Services.  We also have also hired apprentices in accountancy and IT who have gone on to full time employment with the business and also a business administration apprentice, who shows great promise.

We have experienced definite advantages in employing apprentices who can study the theoretical aspects of the job at college as well as the practical aspects of the job in the workplace. They work under the supervision of our specialist solicitors and begin to gain an understanding of how the business works from day one. This most definitely is not an easy route into the profession; to qualify as a solicitor in this way can take 6 years and involves studying and working at the same time. We are committed to supporting apprenticeships as a route into the legal profession and to supporting the careers of our apprentices at Bradley Haynes Solicitors

Our apprenticeship programme reflects our overall model in looking to create a dynamic and energetic team of lawyers of the future. We have taken on two trainee solicitors in the last calendar year, which is perhaps more than many local established law firms and we also employ two Paralegals who are currently studying for their Chartered Institute of Legal Executive qualifications.

We are proud to offer opportunities for those who are prepared to work hard to succeed”
